I am excited to begin a new school year! We will be learning and having lots of fun. Students will be bringing high frequency words home beginning the first week of school. Spelling words will be coming home the second week of school. Our first spelling test will be Friday, September 2. It is very important for you to practice high frequency words and spelling words with your child nightly. We will be using Saxon Phonics this year. Your child will be bringing home small black and white books that they have colored. Please listen to your child read these books as they come home. You can keep these books and have a collection of stories for your child to read throughout the year. We will be using Saxon math for our math curriculum. Your child will be bringing math homework home 2 or 3 times a week. We will complete side A of the paper in class. Side B will be the student's homework. Please check their work to make sure it is correct. The student should bring the math homework back the next day. Please feel free to contact me any time. The school phone number is 553-4381.
