DONNA PRINCE
Reading is to the mind what exercise is to the body.
VERNON HIGH SCHOOL LIBRARY
Mission:
The mission of the library program is to ensure that the students and staff are effective users of ideas and information. This mission is accomplished by providing intellectual and physical access to materials in all formats; by providing instruction to foster competence and stimulate interest in reading, viewing, and using information and ideas; and by working with other educators to design learning strategies to meet the needs of individual students. The library shall also foster learning in all students in a positive, caring, and motivational atmosphere and provide and encourage a successful learning experience.

Library Services
Our print collection of over 13,000 volumes contains a wide variety of fiction and nonfiction books. Several databases are available for research including EBSCO, World and I Online, Encyclopedia Britannica, and Facts on File. Links and passwords to these databases are available to all VHS students and faculty and can be obtained in the library.
The VHS Library has two computer labs for both independent and instructor-guided research.

In addition to regular classroom hours, 7:45 AM to 4:00 PM, we are open on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday evenings for student research and homework help.
