Your child’s behavior in Reading Language-Spelling and /or Math is rated daily by using different colors.

Your student may have a READ NATURALLY story with questions in his/her graded assignments. The numbers at the top of that story are percentages of accuracy and fluency recorded for each story. Each student reads the story orally, then reads along with a tape, then reads again orally alone. On the left side are percentages BEFORE any practice. On the right side are percentages AFTER practice. The goal is the same for both sides.
Accuracy: at least 94%
Fluency: 90 words per minute (wpm) by the end of 2nd grade
120 words per minute (wpm) by the end of 3rd grade
The grades for accuracy and fluency are not usually averaged as a part of the six weeks’ average. They are used to measure progress. The comprehension grade is averaged in the six weeks’ average. Questions are answered independently.
