Welcome back to school. I hope you have a very successful year.

My name is Jan Westover. I teach 6th grade Science. I love teaching Science and I love teaching 6th graders. I am saddened by the fact that I won't be able to follow through with either of those "loves" this school year because I will be deploying to Afhganistan on 18 September 2010. I am excited about this amazing opportunity to serve my country, although I will miss my family, students and colleagues. An interesting fact, my son will be serving in Afghanistan at the same time. We will be serving in different capacities and in different locations, however, I hope we might cross paths while we're "in country"
