Welcome to 5th grade Science!

My name is John H Ford. I graduated from Midwestern State University and my teaching certifications are 4-8 Science, 4-8 Math and EC-6 Generalist.

I am married and have a new baby on the way - Sophie Sue was born on December 2! I also have 3 dogs who keep us pretty busy.

Please check the Quicklinks for updated assignments. We will have a vocabulary test almost every week - you can find the words and definitions under the "Vocabulary" link to the left. Vocabulary words and definitions are given out each Monday, with other related assignments, that will be due the following Friday at the time of the vocabulary test. Tests are generally very short, consisting of 5-7 questions. Students are expected to be responsible for being prepared for the test each week by completing assignments and studying during any class downtime as well as at home.

We are collecting Box Tops for Education. Please gather as many as possible from the products you purchase and send them to school - we can turn them into supplies for the classroom! The students who bring the most by the end of the year will receive a token of our appreciation.
