Welcome to Shive Elementary!

It is my pleasure to serve as the principal for Shive Elementary for the 2011-2012 school year. As the principal, I would like to welcome you to Shive and let you know anytime you have a concern about your child my door is always open.

At Shive Elementary School we have an excellent group of professional, dedicated teachers and paraprofessionals. These individuals share a common desire to work as a team with parents, family members, and the community to offer each child a quality educational experience.

My philosophy of education emphasizes student success. I believe every child can learn and with regular school attendance and effort learning will take place. As parents we all know that success can’t be measured by one standard but must be measured on a child by child basis. In order for your child to achieve at the highest level possible we must be open to working as partners in education. Please visit with your child daily and review any assignments brought home. Please encourage your child to do his or her best and fill your child’s heart with words of praise. Please visit the school as often as possible to show your child the value you place on education. Together we can work to see that each child at Shive has a wonderful year and a successful learning experience.
