I am your child's Social Studies and Language Arts teacher.

In Language Arts we will be combining the skills of English and Spelling. We have been learning about the grammar and spelling rules of capitalization, complete subjects, complete predicates, irregular verbs, and abbreviations. We are transfering this knowledge into our written work. We are also learning about differents styles of poetry as a means to express ourselves.

In 5th grade we will be studying American History. Currently, we have been learning map and globe skills of the compass rose, locating continents,identifying hemispheres, and learning about latitude and longitude. We have also been studying about the American colonization of North America, with the 13 original colonies and the people and cultures who settled these areas of the United States.
