Each fifth grade student is required to participate in the Recorder Karate program. Each student is asked to purchase a recorder through the school for $2.00. Music theory will be taught and students will learn to read basic music and will learn a variety of songs. Belts from white to black can be earned by performing from a list of selected songs. Students have an opportunity to play selections during music class and during designated Recorder Karate times(such as homeroom.) Students are required to play at least one song each six weeks as part of the class grade.
