BE COOL - STAY IN SCHOOL!
ATTENDANCE POLICY
According to the State of Texas, students must attend school 90% of the days in a class to receive credit for the class. 90% = 9 times missed per semester or 18 times missed per year allowed. The 90% rule applies to all absences, excused and unexcused. At the secondary level, absences are counted by class. Should a student miss more than 10% of the time in any class, the student risks not receiving credit for that class.
If a student is absent, a note must be brought to school the next day a student attends school. If no note is received by the school, the absence is counted as "unexcused." The note needs the student's full name, the date of the absence and the reason for the absence.
Please also remember that in order to qualify for the flex days off in the spring, students must meet the 90% rule and must have no unexcused absences!
