Mrs. Hernandez - English/Language Arts
My name is Mrs. Hernandez and I am one of the 7th grade English/Language Arts teachers at Vernon Middle School. This is my 2nd year at the Middle School and I couldn't be more pleased with our campus.
It is my hope that we will have another successful year. Because of this, I will anticipate a relationship with my students, as well as, their parents. Please contact me with any questions and concerns. I believe that you will promptly find that I am accepting and eager to work with you!
About Me
My full name is Sarah Sullivan Hernandez and I have lived in Vernon my entire life. My mother is Beth Halford Shivers and is a native of Vernon. My father is Kirk Sullivan and is a native of Quanah. I am sure that if you have lived here long enough, I know you or one of your family members or you know me, or one of my family members! I am married to Joe Hernandez, who works at North Texas State Hospital. We have two wonderful(sometimes ornery) boys. Brayden is in Kindergarten at McCord and Austin is 4.
Education
I graduated from Vernon High School and Vernon College with an Associate in Arts. I continued my education at Midwestern State University and earned a Bachelor of Applied Arts and Sciences. I will graduate in December with a Master of Arts degree in Counseling. I am certified in English/Language Arts and Reading for 4th-12th grade. I am also certified in School Counseling for grades Early Childhood-12th.
