Students will create three different forms of poetry over the same central theme or topic. Due Friday, October 7 at end of class.

Students will write a personal narrative with the following criteria:

1. Final Draft must be no longer than 2 pages front and front; DO NOT WRITE ON THE BACK
2. Final Draft must be in regular BLUE or BLACK ink
3. Must have 3 compound sentences and 3 complex sentences
4. Must contain any 5 figurative language devices
5. Due Monday, October 24 at the BEGINNING of class

Breakdown of the assignment:
Introduction is due Tuesday, October 18
Body Paragraphs due Thursday, October 20
Conclusion due Friday, October 21

The students will work during class to revise their papers and create one finished product that will be turned in at the beginning of class on Monday, October 24.

Students will read the book, The Lottery Rose completing the daily journal as they read individually each day. The students will begin reading on October 17 and complete the short novel on October 25.

The students will be completing a 30 question worksheet covering poetry and persuasive text today, Oct. 20 in class.
